The 21st century is characterized by the dominance of digital technology and information. Its impact on every facet of our lives will be unprecedented and unforeseeable. The choice before us is clear - either we harness technology to our advantage or allow it to dominate us. It is my hope that Tanzania will embrace technology and leverage it to build a modern and prosperous nation.

To achieve this goal, we must prioritize certain areas for the infusion of technology.

Firstly, we must work towards digitalizing government functions in a manner that is both safe and secure. We need our own cyber security experts to safeguard our national secrets and digital infrastructure.

Secondly, we need to develop healthcare solutions through technology that are tailored to the unique needs of our society.

Third, agriculture is one of the biggest contributor to our GDP & employs the most people. We must use technology to innovate tools and systems that are relevant to our agricultural needs.

Fourth, the mining industry. Tanzania is blessed with natural resources and even though we have made strides over the years we need to do more to ensure we benefit from our minerals not just as raw material but also as a finished product.

Finally, we should incorporate technology in our education system to enhance learning outcomes and equip our students with the skills they need to succeed in the digital age.
