One tool every leader should have, at any level of any organization, is crisis management skills.

Crisis at any organization are inevitable be it in government or private. What ensures success is how the leader(s) handle the crisis & the tone is almost always set from the top.

Below are lessons in crisis management form Dwight D. Eisenhower, five-star general and the 34th President of the United States.

Key characteristics you want in your leader during tmes if crisis:

1. Decisiveness in the face of uncertainty
2. Collaboration and teamwork
3. Flexibility and adaptability

How to prioritize:
1. Urgent and important
2. Important, but not urgent
3. Urgent, but not important
4. Neither urgent nor important

One thing we should always remember is that to lead is to serve not to be served. The Bible in Mark 10:45 says: For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
